Your Route Through the Opening Missions
Complete the opening assignment, finish the base introductions and handgun upgrade, then travel to Kirishima Central General Hospital. Inside, activate the reception portal, collect the shotgun, investigate the ward messages and unlock the operating room; defeat its boss, interact with the operating table again and complete the return objectives.
Finish the Opening Assignment and Prepare at Base
- Complete the opening combat and item-collection tutorial. This introduces shooting, Parry and Ripper Slash before Reona reaches the base, giving you the basic actions needed for the hospital investigation.
- Follow the base introductions with Kyoka Sudo and Imari Fushimi. These meetings belong to the opening objective sequence, so continue through them before heading out for the hospital mission.
- Inspect the Doomsday Clock during the base introduction. This is another required stop in the opening sequence before the handgun upgrade and departure for the hospital.
- Upgrade your handgun in the Workshop. Prioritizing its attack power gives you a stronger starting weapon for ordinary encounters before you collect the hospital's shotgun.
- If aiming feels awkward, practice in the shooting range through the door beside the Workshop counter. Use this optional stop to rehearse aiming, reloading and switching weapons before continuing.
- Depart through the base's departure gate for the hospital mission. The truck takes Reona to Kirishima Central General Hospital, where the investigation continues through the front entrance.
During combat, alternate accurate gunfire with your MP-consuming actions. Hits restore MP, while Parry consumes it, so repeatedly parrying without landing shots can leave you short of MP for skills.
Reach the Reception Portal and Collect the Shotgun
- Take the front-entrance route through general reception. This brings you to the opening hospital interior and the route toward the stairs.
- Head upstairs to the second-floor reception area. This is the next important stop because the hospital portal can be activated here.
- Activate the portal at second-floor reception. It provides access to material transfers and saving, making this a useful place to organize your supplies before advancing.
- Transfer development materials you do not need during combat into storage. This frees inventory space; keep the ammunition and healing supplies needed for the rest of the investigation with you.
- Save through the portal before continuing deeper into the hospital. Its save function lets you preserve your progress at this reception stop.
- Clear the enemies in the elevator-hall area. This is the combat encounter on the route before the shotgun pickup, so finish it before searching farther along the corridor.
- Retrieve the shotgun from the weapon case at the far end of the upper-right corridor. Check this location before moving on so you have the weapon available for close-range fighting and the boss's lamps.
Against the charging enemy with orange weak points, aim at its glowing left shoulder and right knee. Move sideways to leave the path of its charge. Keep adjusting your aim toward those exposed parts instead of spending ammunition on its front indiscriminately.
Investigate the Ward and Unlock the Operating Room
- Investigate all four blood-written wall messages in the special treatment ward. These are important investigation interactions along the hospital route, so check them before concentrating on the way forward.
- Follow the available passages around the blocked routes. Continue along the hospital route through the connecting corridor and nurse station toward the computer interaction.
- Use the computer to unlock the route back through the upper connecting-corridor door. This interaction opens the way needed to reach the operating room.
- Return through the upper connecting-corridor door toward the operating room. The newly unlocked route is your way forward after using the computer.
- Investigate the landmark in the operating room to continue into the boss encounter. Have your ammunition and healing supplies ready before committing to the fight.
If you lose track of the route, consult the map and your current mission objective. Use the objective display to regain your bearings, then check nearby supplies with the indicator before leaving the area.
Destroy the Boss's Lamps and Follow With Brutal Raid
- Shoot the glowing back-mounted lamps with the shotgun. Destroyed lamps turn dark, so shift your aim to the parts that are still shining until the boss becomes vulnerable.
- Use Brutal Raid when destroying the lamps leaves the boss kneeling and vulnerable. This converts the lamp-breaking opening into a follow-up attack.
- Repeat the lamp-destruction and Brutal Raid sequence as the fight continues. Keep returning to the remaining bright lamps rather than abandoning the weak-point strategy for body shots.
During the arena-wide attack, take cover behind the pillars that appear and wait for the attack to finish. Use the SMG to intercept incoming square projectiles. Let the attack determine whether you should seek cover or shoot an incoming threat before resuming fire on the lamps.
Watch for the supply objects during the fight: red objects provide ammunition, while green objects provide healing items. Use those supplies when you are running low. If your health is low, heal before looking for the next safe opportunity to attack.
Complete the Operating-Table Interaction and Return
- Interact with the operating table again after defeating the boss. This is the next hospital interaction before completing the return-to-base sequence.
- Follow the return-to-base objectives after the operating-table interaction. Continue through the indicated return sequence instead of treating the boss defeat as the end of the assignment.
- Complete the conversations that follow your return. These finish the mission's remaining objectives after the hospital investigation and boss fight.
If the Portal Will Not Let You Return
Check your current mission objective if the portal's return option is unavailable. During the initial investigation, activating a portal may not allow a free return before the assignment is complete. Finish the outstanding investigation interactions and return objectives, including the operating-table interaction after the boss.
